Geological Survey of India celebrates 76th Republic Day with ceremonious grandeur at Central Headquarters, Kolkata





Kolkata, 27th January 2025: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) celebrated India's 76th Republic Day with great enthusiasm at its Central Headquarters in Kolkata. Shri Asit Saha, Director General, GSI, hoisted the national flag in the presence of Dr. Joyesh Bagchi, ADG (PSS), Dr. Joydeep Guha, ADG (Finance), and a host of officers and staff members. The event resonated with patriotic fervor as the gathering sang the national anthem and paid homage to India’s democratic ideals.

Shri Asit Saha, DG, GSI, in his address, highlighted the significance of the Republic Day, that celebrates our shared commitment to the principles enshrined in the Indian Constitution. He also emphasized India’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047 and highlighted GSI’s role in critical mineral exploration, clean energy transitions, and disaster resilience through initiatives like the National Landslide Forecasting Centre, urging collective dedication to a sustainable, self-reliant future.
The ceremony concluded with a pledge to remain true to the Constitution and redouble efforts toward achieving national goals. Shri Saha encouraged everyone to strive for excellence, reinforcing GSI’s mission to build a sustainable and self-reliant India.
