4 October’24: Hindusthan Club, one of the city's premier family clubs, has elected Mr. Rishabh C. Kothari, CEO of CKC Fragrances, Kolkata, as its President for the year 2024-25. The election results were announced following the Club's Annual General Meeting held on September 30, 2024.
In a very closely contested election, Mr. Kothari's slate of candidates triumphed with a substantial margin, securing victories for all six office bearers and 13 out of the 15 committee members.
The newly elected office bearers include:
Vice President: Mr. Sanjay Goenka
Honorary Secretary: Mr. Chandrasekhar Sarda
Honorary Treasurer: Mr. Kamal Ghelani
Honorary Joint Secretaries: Mr. Dhruv Agarwal and Mr. Saurabh Shah
Notably, Ms. Swati Shah received the highest number of votes in the election.
Mr. Kothari, who has previously being the President of the Merchants Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) as well as the Fragrances and Flavours Association of India (FAFAI), ran his campaign on a platform of change, called his team "The Changemakers."
He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from members and assured that his team has already outlined its vision and goals in their manifesto. He reaffirmed his commitment to working diligently to implement these initiatives in the upcoming year.
Established in 1945, Hindusthan Club boasts a rich history as a social and family-oriented club. Situated in the prime area of Lansdowne Road, the club serves over 2,900 members, including leading figures in business and industry, primarily from the Rajasthani and Gujarati communities. The club’s ten-story building features numerous amenities, such as restaurants, banquet halls, a covered all-weather swimming pool, squash courts, a health club, a sauna, a gym, and residential rooms, among others.
