Kolkata, September 2, 2024: Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology (GNIPST), a premium institution under JIS Group Educational Initiatives, in association with the Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association (IPGA), Bengal Branch, successfully organised the International Conference MIINDV 2024 at the Dhana Dhanya Auditorium. The conference, centered around the theme "Make in India Initiative for New Drugs and Vaccines," brought together eminent personalities from across the nation and abroad.
Notable attendees included Prof David L Whitford, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya, Malaysia; Dr Montu Kumar M Patel, President of PCI, Chief Guest of the event; Deepnath Roychowdhury, Managing Director of Strassenburg Pharmaceutical Ltd.; Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Amrik Singh, Deputy Managing Director, JIS Group; Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group; Prof (Dr) Abhijit Sengupta, Chairman of MIINDV 2024, Director of GNIPST and Tapan Kumar Chowdhury, Co-Chairman of MIINDV 2024, Vice President of IPGA. Additionally, esteemed academicians like Dr Atul Kumar Nasa, President of IPGA, and Dr Dipendra Singh, Chairman of Educational Regulation at PCI, graced the event.
The event commenced with an introductory session, highlighting the key objectives of MIINDV 2024, which included Novel Drug Discovery, Emerging Medical Technologies, Personalised Medicine, Pharmacogenomics, and Green Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. A significant highlight of the conference was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Cyberjaya and GNIPST, following a keynote address by Prof Whitford on Type II Diabetes and its interventions. The event also featured award ceremonies, technical sessions led by experts like Prof (Dr) Shyamnandi of ICMR, and insightful presentations on various pharmaceutical advancements. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Partha Saha, Organising Secretary of MIINDV 2024, followed by the distribution of awards to the top three poster presenters, recognising their outstanding contributions.
