Pailan College of Management & Technology launched eleven skill development courses at nominal cost for community development



2 July 2024, Pailan Campus, Kolkata: Pailan College of Management & Technology launched eleven skill development certificate courses to bridge the gap of industry and to provide skills to various industries for the betterment of societies at the campus of Pailan College of Management & Technology. They have launched skill development courses on Digital Marketing, Computer Applications, Electrical, Soft Skills & Personality Development, Robotics, Counselling & Patient Management, Soft & RGP Contact Lens, Constructions, Web page Development, Hotel & Hospitality, Drone & Social Media Communications, and Cruise Management.



In the event  Sandeep Patel, Ex-Indian Cricketer highlighted the importance of training in all aspects of life to develop appropriate skills for self and community development.

Dr C S Dhar, Senior Orthopaedic & Joint Replacement Surgeon, C K Birla Hospital said that “the course on Counselling & Patient Management is totally out of the box thought which will help the doctors and hospital to upscale the process”.

Dr  P K  Nemani, General Surgeon, C K Birla Hospital, said that “the skill development courses is for all the categories of people in society, which will help them to develop the skills which will help them and the industries to get right set of skills to excel”.

Dr Suparno Ganguly, Director, Department of Neuro-rehabilitation, Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata shared his experience of lack of skills with academic degree in hospital industry and necessity of skill development program”.



Amit Kumar Singh, Consultant Optometrist & Orthokeratologist, Mechi Eye Hospital, Nepal said that “the course on soft & RGP Contact Lens provide required skills to the industry to show the right path on the service”. Ms. Neena Biswas, Head of the Department, Optometry, Contact Lens Specialist, Sunetra Family Eye Care Center, Kolkata said that “the course will help the industry to provide necessity skills”.


Mr. Prithwish Sarkar, Network Analyst, Tech Mahindra said that “despite being trained for years, it is getting difficult for students to find a secure position in the job market because of a lack of professional skills, so the course on Web Page Development & on computer applications will solve the issue”.


Sanjoy Ghosh, Dada Bartender, Famous Mixologist, said that the courses on hotel & hospitality will help the industry to bridge the gap of skills required in industry”.

Sharmistha Sinha Roy, HR, Lemon Tree Premier, Kolkata said that the courses will help the industry to get right skills”.

Priya Bhattacharya, Learning and Development Manager, Hyatt Regency, Kolkata, shared that “the industry is ready to take the students with such skills for the benefit of hotel industry”.


Prof (Dr) Saswati Mazumdar, Ex-Dean, Ex-Director of School of Illumination Science, Engineering & Design, Jadavpur University said that “the courses on robotics, electrical and construction is high in demand and it will help the industry to get right personnel”.



Arpita Mukherjee, Renowned Tollywood actress said that “the course on Drone & Social Media Communications will provide employment opportunities to many and it will also help the industry”.

RJ Labanya Dutta for the Department of Media Science, shared the importance and necessity of such noble cause by Pailan College of Management & Technology to develop and build the society for its benefits to bridge the gap of skill based industries.

The Pailan College of Management & Technology will run these courses for the community and its development at very nominal cost almost free for the economically backward community and also for the academically challenged students. In this regard robotics lab, international standard language lab, mobile communication lab, modernized optometry lab, digital lab and other related lab has been developed by the college. It will also bring back the oriental education system with modernize approach where the students will be trained for various life hacks to survive with dignity. After profound research on the shortcomings of the present education system, Pailan College of Management & Technology formed additional skill development courses that are of inestimable value in today's world. Therefore, Pailan College of Management & Technology has launched a series of short-term skill development courses in diverse fields to cater to the needs not only of the economically underprivileged or academically challenged individuals but also to the individuals who are fighting to gain updated skills to land in a job or to start their entrepreneurship project. In this regard many eminent personalities from various industries gave their accordant to collaborate as advisors and members of board of studies.
