Kolkata, June 19, 2024 - HP Ghosh Hospital is launching Kolkata's first doctor-staffed free ambulance service exclusively for senior citizens. This groundbreaking initiative provides immediate medical assistance to elderly residents within a 5km radius, ensuring their safety and well-being in critical times. Health is such a field where, even amidst thousands of modern services, there remains a duty of service and humanity. This social responsibility is the basis for the new project at H.P. Ghosh Hospital.
At the inauguration ceremony, notable attendees included the hospital's Medical Superintendent, Dr. Pinaki Bandopadhyay, Head of the Critical Care Unit, Dr. Hirak Bhattacharya, the hospital's Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Somenath Bhattacharya was present. In the press conference organized on this occasion, these individuals, along with the hospital's critical care and emergency department specialist doctors, discussed various aspects of the project and the different stages of treatment for critically ill patients in emergency situations.
From inception in 1923, H.P. Ghosh Hospital has gradually evolved into a comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical center. Alongside conventional treatments, they are introducing some unique advanced services in Kolkata. Today's special ambulance project, following the 'Smart ICU' and 'Pulmonary Chest Tree,' is a significant step in this direction.
Dr. Pinaki Bandopadhyay explained that this ambulance service would operate urgently like the fire department. Upon arriving at the scene, the doctor would provide life-saving primary care and arrange for hospital admission if necessary. Dr. Hirak Bhattacharya noted that this service would be available 24/7 throughout the week.
