Kolkata, 10, March 2024: The Indian Football Association (IFA) hosted a grand celebration in commemoration of International Women’s Day, paying tribute to the remarkable achievements and invaluable contributions of women from diverse backgrounds in their respective fields. The event took place on Friday March 8 at the HB Block Ground in Salt Lake, amidst an atmosphere of joy and appreciation.
Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Sujit Bose, Hon’ble Minister, Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Govt of West Bengal; Ajit Banerjee, President, IFA and Anirban Dutta, Honourary Secretary, IFA.
The event commenced with an esteemed gathering of notable figures such as Dr Rupali Basu, Chief Executive Officer & Director at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital Ltd; Isha Saha, Tollywood Actress; Manoshi Roy Chowdhury, Co- Chairman, Techno India Group; Gargi Gupta, Founder and Secretary, Voice Of World (NGO), a multi-unit non-profit organization for visually impaired, disabled, and orphaned children Kolkata, India; Sukhla Dutta, Head Coach, Indian U19 Women's Football Team; Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar, Former Footballer ; Keya Seth, Entrepreneur, Owner of Keya Seth; Shanti Mullick, Former Footballer; Sujata Kar, Former Footballer; Anita Sarkar, Former Footballer and Monika Parashari Lahiri, Chief Operating Officer (COO), The Accolade Group, who were recognised for their exceptional contributions in their respective domains.
Their presence added prestige and significance to the occasion, highlighting the importance of celebrating and empowering women across all spheres of society.
Following the ceremonial tributes, the event transitioned into the much-anticipated inaugural match of the Kanyashree Cup Premier B, with All Airlines Recreation Club vs Dipti Sangha, further highlighting the spirit of inclusivity and empowerment championed by the IFA. Spectators were treated to an exhilarating display of talent and teamwork as teams competed for victory in the spirit of sportsmanship.
On this occasion, Anirban Dutta, Secretary, IFA, said, “Today’s celebration serves as a heartfelt reminder of the invaluable contributions of women to society.
