Vital Medical Camp for 300 Fishermen and Their Families of Haripota Bheri Takes the Front Seat

Kolkata 3rd January : Through an unique initiative aimed at addressing the healthcare needs of the hardworking fishermen and their families in Haripota Bheri, Priyanka Chowdhury, Philanthropist & Director of Marketing, Cleantek Engergy Pvt Ltd, from the House of Panaroma, in collaboration with the NGO Inner Wheel Club Kollolini, with their President, Papri Saha organised a comprehensive medical camp for 300 people. 

Situated near Basanti Highway in East Kolkata Township, Haripota is a small village where people are predominantly reliant on fisheries for their livelihood. Recognising the pressing health concerns faced by the community, particularly the rise in viral fever and respiratory issues due to unpredictable weather patterns, the medical camp proved to be a timely intervention.The medical camp, which saw active participation from Cleantek and Inner Wheel Club Kollolini, offered free health check-ups to the entire population of Haripota Bheri, focusing on the fishermen and their family members. The challenges faced by individuals working in fisheries, including prolonged exposure to water, make them susceptible to various health issues. With limited access to healthcare facilities and compounded by economic constraints, the residents of Haripota often grapple with undiagnosed health problems. The medical camp served as a crucial platform for these individuals to identify and address their specific health concerns, fostering a proactive approach towards their well-being.

On this occasion, Priyanka Chowdhury, Philanthropist & Director of Marketing, Cleantek Engergy Pvt Ltd, from the House of Panaroma, said, "The success of our medical camp underscores the transformative power of such necessary initiatives in uplifting the less thought of communities.
