Kolkata, 24th January 2024: JIS University (JISU) has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) to strengthen a strategic partnership aimed at encouraging collaborative initiatives in the field of education and professional development. The signing ceremony took place at the Kolkata International Book Fair Ground in the esteemed presence of Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group; Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group; Prof(Dr) Bhavesh Bhattacharya, Vice Chancellor, JIS University; CMA Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak, Vice President, ICMAI; CMA Manoj Kumar Anand, Council Member; CMA Chittaranjan Chattopadhyay, Council Member; CMA Vinayaranjan P , Council Member; CMA T C A Srinivasa Prasad, Council Member; CMA Dr Kaushik Banerjee, Secretary, ICMAI; CMA Dr D P Nandy, Sr Director, ICMAI.
The MoU portrays the commitment of both the organizations to enhance the educational landscape by undertaking joint ventures in various domains. The key highlights of the agreement include the Joint Organization of Workshops, Seminars, and Training Programs where ICMAI and JISU will collaborate to conduct workshops, seminars, continuing education, and training programs on topics of topical and professional interest. These programs are designed to benefit practicing professionals, corporate executives, faculty members, and students of JISU. Both organizations shall encourage reciprocal participation in national and international conferences, promoting a shared platform for intellectual exchange and networking. The MoU allows for the exchange of faculty members, subject to mutual agreement and the availability of resources. This initiative aims to promote diversity in teaching methodologies and broaden the horizons of educators.
The MoU entails regular exchange of course materials, case studies, research publications, and other academic and research inputs, enriching the learning experience for students and faculty members between ICMAI and JISU, regularly. Both the organizations will collaborate in Curriculum Development and extend help and cooperation in developing the curriculum for academic and continuing education programs. This includes joint participation of faculty or nominees in Curriculum Development Committees and bodies. The MoU allows for the sharing of facilities such as infrastructure, library, reading room, etc., as mutually agreed upon by both parties, promoting resource optimization. According to the agreement, ICMAI may utilize the premises of JISU as a study center for its CMA students in the vicinity, subject to the availability of physical space and terms agreed upon by both parties.
Speaking on this occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director JIS Group, said, "The MoU signing marks the beginning of a collaborative journey that aims to contribute significantly to the advancement of education, professional development, and research. Through this MoU signing, we are eagerly looking forward to a fruitful partnership and the mutual growth of their respective institutions."
