JIS Group to start West Bengal's First Private College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences in Historic Collaboration with the West Bengal Government


Kolkata, November 23, 2023: JIS Group educational initiatives has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of West Bengal to start West Bengal’s first ever self-financed veterinary college ‘JIS College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences’ (JISCOVAS) at Mogra, West Bengal.

Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group & Vivek Kumar, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, Department of Animal Resources Development exchanged copies of the MoU at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2023. The MoU signifies the collaborative spirit between the private sector and the government for the greater benefit of professional education and infrastructure in the state. The Veterinary Medical College, a testament to JIS Group's commitment to excellence, represents an ambitious project along with the government with an estimated budget ranging between 200-250 crore INR. This substantial investment underscores the Group's dedication to fostering quality education and contributing to the field of Veterinary medicine. 

Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group and senior management of JIS Group along with dignitaries from the West Bengal Government were present on the occasion.

Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group, expressed his enthusiasm for this noble initiative, stating, "This collaboration symbolises a significant milestone not only for JIS Group but also for the broader educational landscape in West Bengal. JIS College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is not merely a structure; it is a testament to our commitment to nurturing future leaders in veterinary & animal sciences with advancing healthcare standards including One Health."
