GNIHM Forges Academic Alliances with International Institutions Ushering in a New Era of Global Collaboration


JIS Group forges Global Partnerships

Kolkata, 24th November 2023: Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management (GNIHM) a JIS Group educational initiative marked a significant milestone by signing two Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Business and Hotel Management School, (BHMS) Lucerne, Switzerland & Dublin University's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management both esteemed international institutions.

The event was organised at the GNIHM campus, ushering in a new era of global collaboration in the field of hospitality and hotel management. Dignitaries including Dr Ralf Burbach, Head of Hospitality Management Discipline at Technological University Dublin's School of Tourism and Hospitality Management; Heinrich Meister, President, BHMS; Jayanta Ghosh, Vice Principal, GNIHM; and Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, were present at the occasion.

This collaboration aims to foster a rich exchange of ideas and resources between the institutions, encompassing student exchanges, sharing publications between libraries, mutual assistance through information exchange, and special student scholarships.

During the session, Heinrich Meister, President of BHMS (Business and Hotel Management School), Lucerne, Switzerland, sealed a significant agreement with Jayanta Ghosh, Vice Principal of GNIHM. This collaborative effort promises to enhance educational opportunities for students and promote cross- cultural understanding. The MoU includes provisions for student exchanges, collaborative research projects, and a special scholarship of CHF 4,500 for each student transferring to BHMS from Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management. The primary objective of these collaborations is to strengthen the ties between GNIHM and the partner institutions, focusing on student exchanges, publication sharing, mutual assistance in information exchange, and scholarship opportunities. The terms of collaboration for each specific activity have been meticulously discussed and agreed upon in writing by both universities. This event stands as a testament to GNIHM's dedication to fostering international partnerships that will undoubtedly contribute to the global dialogue in hospitality and hotel management, enriching the educational experiences of its students.

Speaking on the occasion Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director, JIS Group, said, "These collaborations represent a strategic step towards globalising our educational footprint. I believe that our students will benefit immensely from the cross-cultural exchange topped with rich learning opportunities and I am looking forward to it."
