Kolkata, 19th October 2023: The students of Subhas Bose Institute of Hotel Management (SBIHM) celebrated the upcoming Durga Puja with a culturally immersive celebration on October 17th (Tritiya). It was a one-of-a-kind, all-student-initiated Durga Puja celebration-Sharad Utsab, which took place at the Biswa Bangla Campus of SBIHM, Newtown.
Every facet of this event reflected the rich traditions of the upcoming festival and was entirely curated by the institute's students. The students successfully crafted the clay idol of Maa Durga, capturing the essence of the goddess with meticulous detail. They also offered a sumptuous Bhog, which marked their remarkable love and devotion toward this UNESCO-acclaimed festival. The students chanted the sacred verses of the Chandi Path and played the rhythmic beats of the Dhaak, which accompanied the festivities, infusing the event with the traditional music and fervour of Durga Puja.
On this occasion, Rajib Sen, Managing Director, SBIHM said, "To my vision, Sharad Utsab, embodied our institution's spirit and dedication to preserving traditions. It's a testament to the devotion and talent of our students, and a celebration that reflects the true essence of Durga Puja."
