Kolkata, 4 July 2023: The Lions Club Calcutta Park Street recently held its installation ceremony to inaugurate its new governing body. The ceremony was led by CA Anil Goenka and PDG Mahendra Jain. In his acceptance speech, Anil Goenka emphasized the Lions Club's founding principle of "WE SERVE" and outlined his focus on impactful services, strengthening bonds and collaboration, and innovation.
The club's new board comprises both experienced and new members, with several past presidents joining to share their expertise and guide the newcomers. Promod Saraf, one of the club's founder members, was also present at the function, having joined the club in 1970 when it was established.
Hemant Marda, a well-known personality in the cultural and business circles of West Bengal and a past president of the club, took an oath as the club's secretary. He expressed his enthusiasm for being part of Anil Goenka's team, which is full of ideas and zeal to work for social welfare.
The PRO of the club, Nt Rashmi Biyani, provided updates on the club's ongoing projects, including the Park Lions Hospital, Kalyanpur Sweeping Teaching Centre, Homoeopathy Centre, Arsh Nidhi School, and others. Additionally, the club organizes programs like "Food for Hunger" to distribute food to those in need and carries out various other social welfare initiatives.
During the function, Gopal Kadia, the chairman of Park Lions Hospital, and Shankar Bhagat, the chairman of the Kalyanpur project, shared information about the club's activities for the year. Outgoing president IK Mall was welcomed into the group of past presidents, and he acknowledged the members who supported him throughout his tenure.
The chief guest, IPDG Anand Jain, commended Lions Club Calcutta Park Street for being one of the biggest and most systematic clubs in the district. He expressed his hope that the club would utilize its strength to create even more wonderful activities.
Many other Lions Club members, including VDG Vijay Jodhani, Sudha Goswami, Kishore Shaw, Umesh Bhartia, Rajesh Chandak, Kashi Khandelwal, Ashok Jaju, Aditya Kesera, NK Mehta, JP Goenka, Sumi Khetan, and their families, were also present at the function.
