KOLKATA, JUNE 3, 2023: Ahead of the World Environment Day 2023, Kolkata’s landmark hotel, Taj Bengal, Kolkata today announced that it is 100% green. In its drive to minimise its environmental impact, the hotel is now using only renewable energy.
Speaking on the occasion, K Mohanchandran, Senior Vice President Operations, East & North East, IHCL, said, “Taking forward the vision of IHCL’s ESG+ framework of Paathya, we are proud to share that Taj Bengal, Kolkata has set a benchmark of being 100% powered by renewable energy. This achievement advances our transition to a more sustainable and low-carbon future reducing the CO2 emission by 8000 metric tonnes annually.”
