29 March, 2023: Purva Kolkata Maheswari Sabha since 2008 working towards various cultural, social & education services. Gangour Mahoutsav the biggest festival of Rajasthan is organized at Kolkata by them since 2009
Hemant Marda, a well-known personality in the socio-cultural field of Kolkata, who is past president of PKMS & Also Coordinator of this year Gangour function informed that every year they put some new dimensions to this festival. He said we always try to make sure that the people of Kolkata must feel like attending this festival at Rajasthan and we also try to promote the culture of Bengalin our puja. This year we have put idols of Shri Krishna mahaprabhu also in this 3 days. Nt Rashmi Biyani the press and media cell in charge Gangour informed the 3 days festival includes, Cultural program by members family, Gangour geets by Members, mehandi for members, and social work by distribution of cloths etc to approx. 300 needy women.
The Sriganesh Puja the preparation for the Gangour was performed by Renu & Sanjay Bahety and during festival pujas were performed by Manju-Suresh Jhawar,Anju-Rajendra Bhutra, Leela -Ghanshyam Mahirar, Saroj-Ghanshyam Bhaiya & Rashmi Rajesh Chandak.
Naresh Pachasia chief guest for inauguration function informed he is very much surprised to see such a grand every of gangour at Kolkata and its he feels blessing of Magawarja that he is part of the function.
The mehandi function was coordinated by Anita Rathi & Sunita Bahety and 124 ladies participated in the program. The cultural program were performed under the supervision of Varsha Daga and in 7 different programs around 40 ladies and children participated. After the cultural program Mrs PURVA GANGOUR competition was organized and well known fashion designer Kaushik Biswas was the judge. Rajkumari Mundhra won the title and Sneha Rathi & Sneha Ladha. Some of the Participants in Cultural programs were Sunita Toshniwal, Rashmi Bahety, Mamta Mohta, Ridhi Bahety, Mansvi Daga, Pala somani, Rupa kumari, Sangeeta Goel and many more.
The Gangour mel Milap was performed throughout the day and around more then 2500 females from different part of the city came and performed puja. Everyone visiting Pandal were mesmerized by the beautiful decor of the Ma Gawarja. The theme of the pandal was conceptualize by Sunil Dhanuka, which was very much appreciated by everyone.
Like previous years this year too Sashi Kothari wrote seven songs to be sun in Gangour festivel which were performed by a 20 members singing team includes Vijay Ojha, Sangeeta Daga, Girija Kothari, Viddhi Kothari, Ajay Garg, Kisha Daga, Sarika Lahoti & others.
The Gangour sawari with around 200 members mainly ladies wearing a specially designed saree and gents a designed a kurta and Rajasthani turben (called Picha) started from the house of Ratan Jiwan Bahety with songs session at Kothari house to Ram krishan garden where a grand reception was organized for everyone .Kishore Shaw, Pawan Kanoi, Bimal Jhunjhunwala, Bina Bhaiya, Adiyta Bhaiya and others were active in arrangements
Rajesh Kumar Chandak Prersident of Purva Kolkata Maheshwari sabha informed the behind the success of grand success of the Festival each and every member of PKMS worked very hard and it’s a result of a joint efforts. He specially thanks the contributors to their generous support too. Naresh Kothari Secretary also mentions Deepak Mundhra served with a very delicious food from all 3 days and its appreciated by everyone
